StatePlus is changing its brand to Aware Super

Our brand is changing, but our promise to put clients first never will. You can count on us to always put you first with timely service and quality advice, every step of the way.

As you may already know, First State Super acquired StatePlus in June 2016. The two organisations joined forces in June 2018 to create one of Australia’s largest financial advice businesses with over 200 financial planners across 68 metropolitan and regional locations.

Now it’s time to consolidate our two brands under a single new brand. From mid-September 2020, StatePlus and First State Super will share the brand Aware Super.

While our brand may be changing, our commitment to provide you with quality financial advice will stay the same. Your planner relationship won’t change. Neither will the specialist advice services we offer, such as expert advice on defined benefit schemes, and retirement planning.

Changes you’ll see from mid-September:

  • All correspondence you’ll receive will feature our new Aware Super logo and new look.
  • All financial planning information will move to the new Aware Super branded website which will replace the current StatePlus site.
  • Our member service centres and advice offices will feature new signage to reflect our new brand Aware Super.

Why we’re changing our brand

Having one unified brand strengthens our message, impact and purpose for the members and communities we proudly serve.

Currently we’re managing two brands under the First State Super banner – First State Super (our super fund) and StatePlus (our advice business) – and we’ve merged with VicSuper in July this year which means we now have a third brand to support.

First State Super and StatePlus will change their brand to Aware Super in September.

As we look to the future, we’ve thought deeply about the need to create a single brand. Our new brand and this decision will unify our member base and clearly represents who we are and the members we serve.

Aware Super celebrates and honours the spirit and actions of all our members.

Aware Super members are extraordinary Australians, who we are proud to serve. The new brand demonstrates our ongoing commitment to action and impact – for our members, their communities and the world we live in.

Having one brand will also eliminate confusion with super funds that have similar names. It’s important to stand out with a recognisable, distinct brand that all current and future members can identify with.

Aware Super reflects who we are and who we strive to be in the future. It’s a brand we chose together in consultation with many of our members and clients and a brand that they liked because it clearly signals our action and intention.
